Special Needs Programs and Music Therapy
Music is a proven means to providing emotional comfort and relief in ways which can be adapted to meet the needs of individual children. Exposure to various styles of music, sounds, rhythm and song provides a therapeutic environment and allows children to explore different cognitive modalities.
“Jesse Neuman, in addressing rooms filled with people of all ages and backgrounds, has an incredible knack for combining improvisation and preparation to carry the message that music belongs to all of us, and that we can make great use of it to express our being. In Musicworks, Jesse has created an organization built to carry that message even further.”
“Working with children with disabilities or pervasive disorders such as autism, I have found
Musicworks to be a great referral to parents of those kids looking
to incorporate music into their lives for therapeutic reasons, learning a new skill, or being a part of a group that they can really participate in. While many social settings are hard, Musicworks programs help kids stay connected and have fun.”
Occupational Therapist, Brooklyn NY

Brooklyn Conservatory of Music
"Musicworks is such a successful and engaging program because
Jesse Neuman and his fellow clinicians treat students as human
beings. In their eyes, kids are seen as MUSICIANS, and as such the kids rise to the occasion to an astonishing degree."
Governor’s Institute of Vermont
“Musicworks can engage anyone from 3-103 with Jesse's improv
musical education program. He has a lot of love and respect for
kids and their creativity. He gets everyone making music together by the end of their interactive shows.”
